Quality Control Measures in PTFE seals production
Being an IATF 16949 certified manufacturer in Taiwan, we understand the importance of quality control throughout the manufacturing process of PTFE seals and ensure that our clients receive top quality products. Besides heavily invested in our laboratory with many inspection and quality control facilities, we also follow a series of important measures for our seals production. Here are some highlights of our quality control measures:
- Before production:
Prior to the start of PTFE seal manufacture, it is important to thoroughly inspect the incoming PTFE raw materials, including particle size distribution analysis, this verifies the quality and purity of PTFE powder used for the manufacturing process. We make sure that the materials provided by our supplier matches with our specifications. Once the materials have been approved, we will safely store and strictly follow the first in and first out rule. Prior to production we ensure all our PTFE materials are stored in a temperature-controlled room.
- During the production:
PTFE Tube Molding process:
- • Bar code systems are implemented to reduce human-errors performed by the operators
- • Monitor and control molding parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle time.
- • Regularly calibrate molding facilities to maintain accuracy
Sintering Process:
- • Monitor and control sintering temperature and time based on different materials to achieve the desired material properties
- • Regular check to ensure the parts meet with specific density requirements
Machining and Finishing:
- • Closely monitor the programs on the CNC machines and ensures that the dimensions and tolerances of the parts are within specifications
- • Inspect surfaces for defects, such as burrs or scratches
- After production:
Once the parts have finished, our quality control department will take over the finished products and perform product inspections. The inspections include both visual and dimensional examinations. Visual inspection includes surface imperfections, irregularities, or any crack. With more than 4 keyence machines, we ensure all the products are within the tolerance limit and our dimensional data are stored for our clients.
- Product Testing:
At Parjet, we also conduct functional tests to assure that our seals meet with the performance requirements. We are able to test the properties of the seals in many aspect, tension, friction rate, wear rate, compression, material melting point… etc. All types of products, from spring energized seals, springs, PTFE rotary seals, PTFE shaft seals, hydraulic seals.. etc, can perform testing and evaluation. These test results allow us to verify the various types of seals functionality and evaluate its performance under varying temperature and pressures.
